IBM CSC Team Round-Off Engagement with Cross River

The fourth and final team of IBM consultants under the Corporate Service Corp (CSC) on Wednesday rounded-off their engagements with various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the Cross River State Government with a presentation to the State’s Executive Council.

The team which comprised of nationals from across 4 continents worked with the State’s ICT Development Department, Department of Public Transportation, Forestry Commission, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Finance and Cross River State University of Technology (CRUTECH).

Their assignments were each tailored to the needs of the MDAs they worked with and their deliverables ranged from supporting the ICT Development Department in developing an enterprise architecture and governance model to building a website for the Forestry Commission and designing and delivering various solutions for managing information.

Responding to the team’s presentation, the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Barrister Efiok Cobham thanked IBM for the extensive work carried out across the 6 MDAs. He went on to stress the need for continuity and sustainability of the projects that had been initiated.

The team is the last of four IBM teams to work with MDAs over the last 12 months under the CSC programme.

Since its official launch in July, 2008, The CSC has deployed 500 IBM employees from across 44 countries on 29 teams to 9 countries.

During their stay in Cross River, the team found time to visit some of the State’s tourism destinations including Obudu Ranch Resort and the Afi Mountains Drill Ranch. According to Bernd Straub, a German national who worked with the ICT Development Department “people in Cross River State are very friendly and open. We had a very positive experience.”
