Wife of CRS Governor hosts wives of Members of Nigerian Society of Engineers [NSE]
The Wife of the Cross River State Governor, Mrs. Obioma Liyel-Imoke played host to the wives of members of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) in Calabar. At a luncheon held in Monti Suites Calabar, Mrs. Liyel-Imoke said she wanted them to have a taste of the cuisines that Cross River State is noted for adding that hospitality is what the 'Nation's Paradise' is noted for. “ The people of Cross River State are hospitable, it is our way of life. It is a privilege for me to give you a taste of our cuisines, noted as the best in Africa".
She enjoined them to take time off during their stay in Calabar for the NSE Annual General Meeting (AGM) and National Conference to attend some of the Calabar Festival events which she described as a festival of 32 days witnessed by approximately 5 million people from all parts of the world, with the Adult Carnival which comes up every 27th day of December, with approximately 2 million tourists in attendance. She described Calabar Festival as an economy-driven festival that features both local and foreign artistes. Mrs. Imoke expressed her appreciation on the choice of Calabar as venue of the 2011 NSE Annual General Meeting & National Conference.
Speaking, the National Leader of the Wives of Nigerian Society of Engineers, Chief Mrs. Oreyami Ajibola, intimated that the association has 55 branches all over Nigeria. She said they were in Calabar for a week-long NSE 2011 AGM/National Conference which commenced on Monday 4th, December 2011 at the Tinapa Business & Leisure Resort and thanked Mrs. Imoke for providing them the opportunity to spend time with her during the luncheon.
