The Department of livestock, Ministry of Agriculture produces day-old chicks on model farms and supply to farmers is on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays each week between 9am and 12 noon.

Farmers are required to submit formal and written request to source sundry livestock.

A form is provided for this purpose and details of fees payable are outline on the form. Department of Livestock has its Head Quarters at 3 Barracks Road Calabar, There are out station offices at Ikot Effanga, Ugep, Ikom, and Okuku. They also have representatives in each Local Council Office.
